Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 16, 2026
Last updated: September 16, 2026
Covert Coders LLC ("Covert Coders", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at www.covertcoders.dev (the "Site"), how we use and protect that information, and the choices available to you.
This policy covers the Site only. Our mobile applications are covered by their own policies — see the Covert Sudoku Privacy Policy. Source code, project materials, and other confidential information that clients provide to us as part of a validation engagement are governed by the written agreement between us, not by this policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide to us
The Site has no accounts, logins, or payment processing. The only information you provide directly is what you choose to send us through our contact form or by emailing us:
- Your name
- Your email address
- The contents of your message, and any information you choose to include in it
Please do not include sensitive personal information, credentials, or confidential source code in an initial inquiry. We will arrange a secure method for exchanging project materials before any engagement begins.
Information collected automatically
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page is requested. These server logs typically include your IP address, browser type and version, the page requested, and the date and time of the request. We use this information only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site. We do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
The Site sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising, no social media widgets, and no third-party trackers. Our pages load no resources from third-party servers. If this changes, we will update this policy and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about our services
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Site
- Keep ordinary business records
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not send marketing email to people who have only contacted us with a question.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Our website hosting and email providers process information on our behalf so that the Site and our email can function. They are permitted to use it only to provide those services to us.
- Legal requirements. If we are required to do so by law, subpoena, or other valid legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If Covert Coders is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
Data retention
We keep contact form submissions and email correspondence for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and to maintain reasonable business records, and generally no longer than [RETENTION PERIOD — e.g. 24 months] after our last contact with you, unless a longer period is required by law or by an ongoing client relationship. Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider in the ordinary course of operating the Site.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold, including transport encryption (HTTPS) for the Site and access controls on our email. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can choose not to submit information through the Site. If you have already contacted us and would like us to delete your message and contact details from our records, email us at support@covertcoders.dev and we will do so unless we are required to retain them.
California privacy rights
This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy. It is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA").
Categories of personal information we collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from website visitors:
- Identifiers — such as your name, email address, and IP address.
- Internet or other electronic network activity information — such as server log data about the pages you request.
- Other information you voluntarily provide — the contents of any message you choose to send us.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not collect biometric information, precise geolocation, financial account information, or information about your race, religion, health, or sexual orientation through the Site.
Sources, purposes, and disclosure
We collect this information directly from you and automatically from your device when you visit the Site. We use it for the business purposes described under "How we use information" above, and we disclose it only to the service providers and in the circumstances described under "How we share information" above.
No sale or sharing of personal information
We have not sold personal information and have not shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the preceding 12 months, and we do not do so today. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16 years of age.
Your California rights
Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it
- Access a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you
- Delete personal information we have collected from you
- Correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share, so there is nothing to opt out of)
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it)
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide you a different level of quality because you exercised any of these rights
How to exercise your rights
To submit a request, email us at support@covertcoders.dev with the subject line "California Privacy Request" and tell us which right you wish to exercise. Because we do not maintain accounts, we will need to verify your identity by matching the information in your request against the information in our records, which may mean corresponding with you at the email address you previously used to contact us. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days, and we will tell you if we need an additional 45 days.
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require written proof of the agent's authority and may still ask you to verify your own identity directly.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites, our practices are the same regardless of whether such a signal is present.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the current version at this address. Material changes will be identified clearly. Your continued use of the Site after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
